I didn't beat it since I could only play on PSN downloaded versions, but it's a really fun run and I might start taking it up again. Actually, if I can get a hold of a decent PC version I'll start running it again. I never did record any times.
i want to give Dino Crisis 2 PC a shot but i got told the controls were utter garbage, if the in-game timer is accurate then ill have to find a way to use a controller
After playing DC for the first time on PC earlier it seems to have better loading times (which is a given really) and you can skip FMV's entirely like RE3, I don't know if the final FMV can be skipped (had them enabled earlier) but will test later.
Oh, and the PC version also has a Hard mode! Which is something I didn't know since the PSX version definitely didn't have that.
^ I'm definitely getting on that at some point now.
As I thought disabling FMVs in the options skips the final FMV too which is usually unskippable by pressing start like the others. Although I'm fairly certain game time stops as soon as the final FMV starts it'll cut down viewing time at the very least.
Yo, so... I got my hands on the PC version of this one, and I'm really interested in trying it. I have a qustion though: Can I use ressurection items or continues if I die?
Thanks, and excuse my poor English (I am not a native English speaker).
Haha, well. Just learned the route, I didn't complete my first run yet. I guess I won't die, but I'll have to use some Med Packs during the run though (the dinosaurs inside the B3 area are a pain)
You should only need 3 medpacks... The Two in the B1 Infirmary of the Facility (after choosing Gail's Route during the Tom section) and probably one other.
I did another run today, 1:24:20, both runs were done with weapons.
It was a preeeetty bad run. I had like 4 Med Packs, used all of them and still died (but I picked less items and my menuing and puzzle solving was actually way faster than before).
I really need to practice dodging dinosaurs in the B3 area...
Forgot to mention this but thanks to our friend Atom0s from Cheatengine.org He found all the nessecary information for the game timer to be read from Dino Crisis
This hooks into the game window and Displays the In game timer in real time similar to the bio games(It is a capcom game afterall) so everything works the same, this would have to be moved into a separate window rather then a window hook, but could be done of course, ill update on that soonish.
I'm still trying to figure out how to dodge the dinosaurs in the B3 area. I can reset their positions by re-entering the room, but that's a considerable waste of time.
