I didn't play much with Genma Onimusha, but it can be potentially faster with the ability to charge magic attacks for insane amounts of damage and the ability to charge regular attacks. But I don't remember if Bosses have an increase in health.

The different Enemy placement could make it slower as well along with enhancing the weapons cost more souls, but the new Ogre souls could make some parts faster if you're able to get them in the right spots especially against bosses. Being invincible will allow you to just mash on the attack button for like 5 or so seconds.

With no Xbox I can't test it though.

I'd say they are about even in speed since the game doesn't count Cutscene time, and the new placement could end up wasting more time than the power Slash/Magic Charge save. For most people the better one to run will be Genma since you can akip all cutscenes since waiting 5 minutes just to really start the game is off putting to some.

Oh boy. Learning some thangs on Onimusha 2 by watching Shin's run, and I already see its going to be a bitch to run. Shin's run was segmented which allowed him to get the black Necklace, and since I do SS I won't be getting the Black necklace because the amount of luck you need to get the fossilized bones just wont be worth the hassle. Without the Black Necklace Gigghaphants(?) 3 flying form is a pain, and Nobunaga's flying form is a pain because it gives you an opportunity to issen like once in a blue moon and the window to issen is small on him.
