So, after a couple of runs where I saw my times were good (55 in sourcnext version) I decided to run a test on how many bullets I needed to defeat each boss. Here's the data I collected (each number is separeted by a - into another number when talking about nemesis. It means that the first number is the shots you need to take him down, and the second one the shots needed to kill him)

Clocktower Fight:
Freeze: 5-5
Flames: 6-6 (+ fire)
Acid: 7-7
Burst: 8-8

Grave Digger:
Freeze: 15
Flames: 16
Acid: 11 (can be 9 though)
Burst:  20

Factory Fight:
Freeze: 4-4-4
Flames: 5-5-5 (+ fire)
Acid: 6-6-6
Burst: 7-7-7-3

I didn't test anything on the last nemesis fight, but I know that with 10 freeze shots you can take him into 0HP, which means somenthing around 8 freeze, 9 flames and 10 acid should be enough for taking him below 200health for the one shot.

With this, I tried to plan my amunition route so that I don't pick up any more gunpower that I need, AND trying to avoid menuing as less as possible. The thing is, I really need freeze rounds for the factory fight because I suck at that. And I can't find a good route to make freeze rounds (either clocktower or factory, but to avoid menuing is RNG dependant).

So, anyone wants to share their routes or strategies for ammunition for boss fights?

EDIT: All this info I collected is for the original-heavy mode in the PC version.
Thread title:
I think a highly optimized route is as follows: 3b per ct, 2c cabin, 1b in lab. Grenade rounds picked up at ct and cabin (cabin only if the rounds weren't found in ct library or park save room). This allows 9/24 acid for gravedigger, 12-15 acid for final nemesis, 12 freeze for garbage nem.

So acid > Flames on the last nemesis? I had a run where I had to use acids and it went pretty bad. Guess I have to collect some data there because I may have missed a lot of shots. My best run I did 2b at pharmacy (where you find nicholai and the additive... is that a pharmacy right?), 2c at park before gravedigger and 3a at lab just to not run out of ammo (which I needed thanks to garbage nemesis glitching and not dying)

By cabin what do you mean? The park or the room after you jump out of the cable car?

EDIT: I had a save in the end of the game so this is the data for final nemesis

Freeze
85 damage
8 to >200HP
10 freeze to 0HP

Acid:
55 damage
11 to >200 HP
17 to 0HP

Flames:
60 damage (+10 from fire = 70)
9 to >200HP
12 to 0HP

Burst:
45 damage

I didn't had enough burst rounds but that's a lolno to use. And the freeze rounds also have the + damage from the ice after the shot, but I didn't took it because of how hard is to miss the ice. I did notice the fire damage because that tends to miss here and there.
By cabin I mean the shed in the park before gravedigger. Acid works fine on final Nemesis, so I guess you missed a couple shots. The reason why I opt to go for B rather than A in lab is due to inventory management. The final nemesis can take only 13 acid rounds before the 1 cycle, which is not that much to be honest.

Yeah, I guess your route is quiet perfect. I think 2b in ct and 2a in lab is better, but I've never practice inventory management. I just do it and try to be as safe as possible wihtout trying to use the menu that much. So I don't really know which is better in terms of less menuing. But yeah, 13 acid in the last nemesis is easy. I can't believe I missed that many shots (I had like 16...).

At least now I know that 2c in the park is basically the best option now.

Thanks a lot for the information Zoso, really useful. I always thought that acid rounds were the most powerfull.

3b in the city works fine for me now that I know better how to manage my inventory before finishing the cable car.
I might try to take 2 and see if that way I can carry an aid spray or herb to make the run safer.

Were should I make de Acid/Freeze rounds? I always make them right before figthing the clocktower nemesis but maybe another location could be fine too, perhaps at the chapel were you take the key since some B and A can spawn there.
And also, there's a corpse with some GrenadeLauncher ammo in the spider alley right before the Amber-obsidian-cristal riddle, is it better to get it before or after figthing nemesis or it doesn't matter at all?

As to where to make the rounds, either A) when you open your inventory to use a spray or combine a key item, or B) when you need space and you can combine with other previous rounds store in the granade launcher itself. For the clocktower fight, I combine them right next to the mechanism wheere you have to use the gear to enter the fight. Since you must open your menu, I do that there.

As for the granade rounds, you have 6 on the granade launcher the first time you pick it up. You have the ones in that corridor you mentioned, and you have one before the gravedigger fight. That should be enough to finish the game. You may be lucky with RNG and get one earlier but still, 3 is enough.
And it depends when I get it. Sometimes I have a really good run where no spray is used, so I don't have enough space, so I get 3 free space for the puzzle, so I get it in my way back (if spider RNG was nice), or it it was kinda bad, I wait when I have to run from nemesis. Since he doesn't enter that room until the camera changes, so you have unlimited time to get those rounds until you run to the other door.

I mostly end up doing option B because normally I don't get hit that much on that part of the run. However that depends if I get or not Drain deimos on the dinning room. (I really hate those creatures)

And yup, you were right about the ammo. Today I finally made it to not die at any point of the run, and ended up with having more ammo than needed. I got like 7 spare acid and 7-10 freezes

Drain Demons on the dinning room? You mean the room with the large table before the save room? Why are you having problems with that room out of all the possible rooms?

Yes that one. It could be just bad manipulation of them but I'm not sure (Tapping the run key instead of just pressing it). I don't get killed there anyways, just get a few hits with their claws while running at their sides.

Drain demos are a pain in general for me, I can only handle them in the city. From there onwards I still need to practice more.

On that room just just hold run + up and left. That room can have zombies or demons. Either way, if you hold that when entering the room, you'll run in an angle that you'll be able to run straight then and just past the table. Then you'll be totally secure to run to the door. Most of the times a demon will do its jump attack and kinda scare you because you may only dodge him but a few centimetres, but it's ok. I don't really understand how you can be hit there since I always thought it was pretty straight-foward. But you should try to tap run, just plain run. They spawn really far away from you.
