Question about running straight New Game

So i've finally finished with the new game + runs and have delved back into the normal runs from a straight new game.
but because ive unlocked all the costumes and such, they still carry over back into a regular new game.

I found this strange. but i don't mind it. the only thing i come asking is, With parker because he does get a benefit in the terragrigia flash backs while in the wet suit. do you suppose we could just set him to his default costume or one of the other and just ignore the wet suit completely, because none of the other outfits actually add a benefit in anyway from what I've found game play wise to speed anything up. no extra damage weapon wise or melee wise with any of the outfits from what ive played around with.

or are people on the boat of just set everything default and run it as if its a fresh install ?
I want to ask and verify before i start recording and getting ahead of myself. i like Pirate Jill and Ninja Keith to much to let them go ;_; to many damn hours sunk into raid mode to get them. but thats just me. I can disable them if consensus says default for New game. at least i think i can...

Question still stands,
but I've done a few runs and I just defaulted all the costumes since I didn't want to have a moot run in case of controversy.

I guarantee you nobody cares what costume Parker wears.

It's not like Ashley in RE4 where she's invincible.

but Parker does get a benefit of one shot killing hunters with his axe if you use the wet suit which saves from the various runs I've done upwards of a solid minute of time or more on the second terragrigia run. during 11-3 which would be enough to easily change a run. it also moots a few pick ups since your not trying to manipulate hunters into jumping around you and dodging attacks with invincibility frames and such.

but regardless, I've just been using the default outfits since i found that you can just reset the outfits for the runs.

now I'm just trying to beat Herb's time he did on the PS3 for my run before i upload my last time for the game. i keep loosing time where i shouldn't one of those frustrating things.

Figured as much. thanks for the input, I've been using the defaults regardless anyway. but I guess its always good to get confirmation from others as well.

Eh... for some other games I'd agree but considering it's actually still on NG and not NG+ I'd still put it in NG category and save NG+ mainly for IRL runs and such.

I mean sure you have to finish the game to get the costumes to open up but it's still on New Game and it's not like everyone can't do it, it'd just make NG runs longer and tedious in Terragrigia for no reason (which is already a tedious segment as it is) just so we can have more unnecessary leaderboards when we already have too many.

So personally any run that you actually start by selecting New Game is NG for me, and any New Game + is NG+, it only makes sense in my eyes.

Yes it's faster but otherwise you just have to run around picking up extra ammo and stuff to make it to the end anyway, and it only affects two sections in the entire game so it's pointless having it categorised differently if you ask me.

Basically just use whichever costumes you want since most don't matter, but that Parker costume is the most important. I get what's being said don't get me wrong but I don't think it's enough to warrant it being called "NG+" when it's still on NG but with 'perks'. Like I said it's not like everyone can't do it and no one is going to want to run the game without playing it first anyway.

So bottom line I'd say it's still NG since it's pointless to put it in the same category as IRL runs just because of one time save.

I don't get this.. Isn't people supposed to have beaten the game at least one time to do speedruns, or at the very least, any serious attempt? Then I don't see the problem with using the costumes if you're picking NEW GAME.

the terragrigia runs are actually pretty easy to get by without using parker's axe with the wetsuit, i've found some abusable strats within those maps for locations to force pathfinding with the hunters so you can just easily deal with them.
