I apologize to the original WR holder >_<, I will upload a sub 1:35 or sub 1:30 run when I do a similar run again!
My main RE to run is RE0, if you have any question regarding the run I will answer them. I will not upload this run since there are new tactics and slight glitches I don't want people knowing about until I can smash the segmented WR.

P.S it is possible to get sub 1:35.

Gave this like 2 weeks for you to put up videos/further explain but nothing. I hate having to sound like a dick here, even though I'm normally a very nice person.

1. I totally get the 1:32 picture you posted as being emulator but the 1:38 is VERY suspicious when you say it's done on console. The image quality is pretty much an exact match to the emulator one. To my knowledge there is no consumer grade capture card that can match emulator that accurately. The only thing that could match it was playing this game over Wii U and HDMI at 720p but then you'd need to use the classic controller which I doubt you did. That then leaves the Wii outputting 480p over Component and I'm pretty sure no Component capture card can get that close to emulator. Even then, 480p means standard aspect ratio for the capture card (4:3 or 3:2 depending on resolution you chose). Your screenshot is of course 16:9 ratio. It's almost as if you did two runs on emulator, quickly print screened them in paint and hastily cropped them and called one a console run.

2. "I will not upload this run since there are new tactics and slight glitches I don't want people knowing about"

You do realize that's like the scummiest thing you can ever do as a speedrunner, right? You shouldn't even call yourself a speedrunner if you are doing stuff like that. You are just using these new techniques to get WR and not giving anyone else a chance to compete. What you should have done was made a video explaining how to do this stuff and let others use it alongside you. Let's face it, RE0 running is pretty much non existent. Something cool like this would have been exactly what the game needed to put some life into it! But no, you're going to just keep these "glitches" to yourself, try and get a good time and then kill off the game.

I'd take it with a grain of salt considering world records aren't validated by doctored up end game time screens.

Hi thrill, I can confirm this was done on the wii u with an elgato for the 1:38 using a wii classic controller, I have not achieved a sub 1:35 on console neither have I been trying since my studies dictate my free time. I have every right to with hold strats until I am happy with a flawless run, it does not make a scummy speedrunner just by playing cards close to my chest. I simply posted times which are possible, I am known as a legit speed runner who pulls no cheap crap. If you wish not to believe me that's okay too! life's full of disbelievers and it's perfectly healthy to not believe something until seen :)

My bad forgot to log in, I completely agree though with your uncertainty of validity since no videos. But as stated before when my christmas break comes round I will attempt sub 1:35 again on my wii u. I forgot to include another part of my rig which is my drive to boot load games on my soft modded wii u (wii u homebrew for region-less play) Thanks for the keen interest!

I should have clarified, sub 1:30 is possible on emu and sub 1:35 is possible on console.

I apologize for any concerns you might have thrill and I will attempt when my studies allow :)

I will explain tactics used, Nothing is killed on the train using resets for perfect RNG (except the scorpion and jewelry box zombie), so saving time from not killing the dogs in the front and back of the train neither wasting time shooting any zombies or switching invents with rebecca. Billy picks up the jewelry box and hook(eta of around 1-2 mins saved from these train strats with perfect rng). I also ditched the hunting shotgun and took the pump-action, this gives a fully loaded weapon and you save having to pick up a set of shells later. The idea of the shotgun by the end is just to get the queens attention and well the pump action has more shells so less reloading is needed and will get the attention quicker e.t.c.

The relative strats stay the same in the mansion for order however I have heard rumors of a bat skip and steam room skip however I cannot replicate such glitches. Anyway the glitches I use are stated as 'slight glitches' in the lab you can actually stack enemies and make them walk into each other without being bit (they do this weird jittering), for example standing at the lift with Rebecca when you first enter the lab stacks enemies and they can't get to you.

To recap, with no saving, and a perfect rng run with the pump action, no damage/kills [except scorpion and one zombie], zombie stacking, saving picking up one/two sets of shells and perfect micro a single segment time is how I got it.

See, was it that hard to post what you improved instead of hiding it? Say what you want but holding strats till a flawless run is scummy. I'm sure most people here agree. Like I guess it doesn't matter for a game that is virtually dead but meh. There's been many games I've found glitches in that if I didn't explain them/show and just waited to get the perfect run I'd have been unbeatable, but you don't do this because it's bad manners to the community.

I'm also pretty sure the Wii U drive loads faster than a normal Wii drive so it's tough to compare against the current run.

I disagree, but everyone for their own. I posted my strats and I apologize if it wasn't to your etiquette before however I adjusted it accordingly.

I cannot quote on this, from my understanding it's just same the VM as a WII and has no stand on speeding up processes; that I do know for fact. However a VGUI instance might cause it to run faster which is possible.
So if you're not aware of what I am talking about, it's like using a ps1 with fast load (fast disk read) which IS allowed afaik (reference the re1 runs from different models of PS1 and/or PS2.

It's not going to matter at the end if Sovietboss decides to release a run.

But it's not a WR and really we shouldn't care if he doesn't have video proof that he chooses to make public.

So as far as I'm concerned, unless he wants to talk, there's no reason to call him out, because there's no reason to care. He won't put out a record that beats the other, so it's in his own little world. For instance...

This is my PB on a Wii console. I'm not going to release my run. It is not a video that acts as the current world record. It's an image which doesn't make it the WR.

Chill out Greg, there will be plenty of chances to beat it if he decides to release a run. In the meantime, you shouldn't care.
