So I have been playing around with this classic for awhile, I have been doing a lot of challenge runs, my favorite being Chris, knife only, best ending. I have noticed this thread mention some glitches, is there any tutorial video for these?

I took a look at sefjul and only a couple of those tricks can pertain to the Chris scenario. Just curious if there is anyone who has found any good Chris skips.

With Chris there s the chemical skip and the radio skip
( chemical skip )
( radio skip )

PS : And the knife cancel animation but it s obvious

Are there any specific settings or plugins I should use for PSXjin 2.0.2 emulator? I just downloaded it since that seems to be the best for RE1 speedruns.

PSXjin is indeed THE emulator for RE1. You don't really have to setup anything besides the controller, other than that, it's all set to play.

I have a problem loading states with psxjin for practice

when I do, all the models disappear

anyone got a step by step guide for fixing it?

I didn't get the savestates to work on psxjin too, I just use epsxe for savestate practice.

My PSXjin savestates worked from the get go. I'm not sure if it'll help you but here are what my settings look like: http://imgur.com/a/kPu3h (imgur album)

I use the "Loadstate From..." function with savestate files instead of savestate slot 1, 2, 3, etc.

Thank you for this post, I would have responded earlier but haven't played the game in about a month but I plan to go back to playing Chris best ending with the knife only. What I am curious about is if I really want to start putting time into speedrunning this catagory, would it matter or would this be considered an arbitrary catagory?

I think I found a slightly faster Black Tiger Spider web strategy with Chris. I didn't see any mention of it in this thread so I'm sorry if this is old news.

I think I've arrived to the point with this game where I'm just about ready to rip my hair out. 3 months now I've been stuck on 58:17 for a Jill any% and the closest I've got in that 3 months is a 58:21. I even managed the plant 42 glitch during 1 run but still no PB. Its frustrating as hell but even though I want to rip my hair out, I do still enjoy running. Even after all these play throughs my menus are still pretty bad and I'm also still running into walls from time to time and might dreaded "you can't use it here." Still enjoying it a lot.
