Hi guys, i have something to ask.

I see in the leaderboard that people used turbo controller. So yeah i know that it s legit for JAP but i still convinced that s cheating.
I love yoshi and his runs but really don t do like him. If we accept this for RE3 .. why don t we accept this for RE2 or 1 ... ? That s not the good way to think.

I suggest 2 things :

1) Ban yoshi s run from the leaderboard ( he s a really a great player even without turbo i m sure about that )
2) Create a new category with turbo if really you want it ( i m against that but that s more fair than mix everything )

I will not ban his run. There are few things I will exercise my admin authority over. This is one of them.

If you deny the existence of a faster run, whether it uses Turbo or not, then it denies an entire community of players (Japan) who use Turbo simply because that's how they've always done it. It would be dishonest (and inaccurate) to remove it.

I'm not going to turn this into a war. The Turbo run stays unless the video disappears. I added the turbo "variable" to denote it. The fact that it is marked "turbo" leaves anyone who looks at the leaderboard to make the judgment for themselves what is the WR. It should not matter what's in the #1 slot, because everyone has their own definition of World Record anyway. You're free to call whichever run you want on the leaderboard the WR because that's the whole point of having as many categories as we do to begin with. It was already #1 on the wiki, and nobody raised any objections to it last time, because they acknowledged it was the fastest time for RE3 PC in the world.

Whether you acknowledge it's the faster run or not, you're still defaulting to the idea that it's the (second now) fastest time in the world. So no, I will not remove it. There are no Turbo runs in the #1 slots for any other RE game, and trying to extract one special rule created around RE3 and force it on others (because "oh, this one has it, why don't the others?") is called "cherry picking".

NOBODY ELSE THINKS WE SHOULD ADD TURBO TO RE1 AND RE2, SO QUIT ACTING LIKE IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN.

No prob ;) I think that turbo variable is a pretty good idea.

I just said RE1/2 cause it s really the same deal about the time saved. I know that nobody said that we ll do it and i m sorry if i was rude.
Like you said, it s hard to have an happy community. There s so many hardware/category and stuff like that :D

Actually, I removed the variable. The best thing I can do is denote that turbo was used in the video if it is confirmed that turbo is used in the video.

Honestly, it creates a ton of unnecessary witch hunts for runs where we can't prove or disprove they used Turbo... Especially since there are people who can do it without a turbo controller.

I'm not interested in enforcing this because it creates so much unnecessary drama.
